It all began about eight years ago in the summer of 2017 when we met through mutual friends. It didn’t take long before Cole asked me to be his girlfriend.

Fast forward to a year of long-distance, where we mastered phone calls, weekend road trips, and saying, “I miss you” about 100 times a day. Thankfully, Cole decided to make the leap and move to the island, proving that love truly conquers ferry schedules.

While I juggled late nights and long shifts in the nursing program, Cole became the ultimate domestic hero—cooking meals, cleaning the house, and making sure I didn’t survive on Mr. Noodles and coffee alone. Honestly, he deserves an honorary nursing degree for keeping me sane.

Then came August 10, 2022—a day I’ll never forget, partly because Cole almost dropped the engagement ring into the ocean. After a day of scavenger hunting and biking all over downtown Victoria (organized by Cole, my Mom and my Aunty Lynn & Jane), we ended up at the final stop where he popped the question on Ogden Point Breakwater. Little did I know, my mom, nana, and aunt were watching from a distance to celebrate the moment. It was romantic, nerve-wracking, and hilarious all rolled into one.

In April 2023, we took the plunge into homeownership, a.k.a. the ultimate relationship test. Cole handled the renovations like a pro, while I perfected the art of picking paint swatches and adding cozy decor. Together, we turned our house into a home.

Our little family wouldn’t be complete without our three fur babies: Luna and Arlo, the cats who run the household, and Theo, our dog we adopted in December 2025. They keep us entertained, cuddled, and occasionally covered in fur.

We’re so excited to start this next chapter surrounded by our favorite people. Thank you for being here to celebrate with us—it means the world (and saves us from eating all the cake ourselves)!
